Supporting supply chains in Tanzania through Seed Fund: Jiko Fanisi La Umeme

MECS is excited to announce the launch of Jiko Fanisi La Umeme Seed Fund to support the development of eCooking Supply Chains in Tanzania.

A one day workshop to support applicants with business planning is being held on 19th November. Expressions of interest to attend must be submitted by 23:55 GMT on 1st November 2024. Please see here for more details. Applicants do not need to attend the workshop to apply.

Jiko Fanisi La Umeme seed fund invites organisations to apply with a business proposal to support a healthy eCooking supply chain. The fund is applicable to new or early-stage companies to gain market traction in Tanzania distributing eCooking appliances.

Important Information

  • Total funding available is up to £58,000.
  • Closing date for applications is 23:55 GMT 1st December 2024.  
  • Total project duration will be 10 months commencing 10th February 2025.
  • A webinar outlining the opportunity and the application process will be delivered on Tuesday 12th November at 11.30 am GMT. More details are available here.
  • Organisations should apply to either this seed fund OR the Importation and Distribution of eCooking appliances tender. Applicants are not eligible for both funds.
