The Modern Energy Cooking Services (MECS) programme in India is carrying out a consultation on the state of transition to electric cooking in the country and what the priorities should be for further action. This will feed into a wider stock take we are undertaking this year. In this reference we would like you to answer a few questions about your views and observations using our online survey.
The survey focuses on the following:
- We have produced a short overview of the situation in India (available below) – we would welcome your comments on this including any additional information you feel we should take into account.
- What data/evidence about the current situation or projections about how things could change are needed to enable planning/policy?
- Where is greater capacity, capability, infrastructure needed to support an eCooking transition
- Do you have suggestions for scalable or substantial projects that could really help overcome the challenges and/or unlock the potential?
We plan to hold a small number of online interviews to enable key specialists to expand on their answers. If you would be willing to be interviewed, please indicate that and give your name and contact details. If not, you can respond anonymously. The deadline for survey completion is Friday 12 September 2025. Please find the link for the survey below:
As well as the report on the state of eCooking in India, please find below a Participant Information Sheet that gives more details about this study and what it will entail.
Do get in touch if you have any questions.
