Within the Carbon Finance for Clean Cooking pages under MECS Resources are a series of materials produced for MECS by Climate Focus.
The 4th item in that series is the Cost Benefit Model for Clean Cooking in the Carbon Markets. This is an Excel-based cost benefit tool to help potential project developers explore project feasibility under different scenarios.
The tool asks for inputs on the project itself: the stove cost, the emission reduction potential per cookstove and their implementation rate, and the expected carbon credit price. It includes a model of the costs of the various stages of carbon project development.
Since some costs are fixed and some are variable, the overall cost-benefit is affected by the scale of the project. The tool allows easy exploration of scenarios for project size and the various other project details and carbon development costs.
The 2nd item in that series is a briefing note that provides an overview of the carbon project development process for clean cooking, and the elements of cost involved.
