An eCooking training and technology demonstration was organised with the Clean Cooking Champions (CCC) of JWiRES, a women-led Self-Help Group associated with the Jeevika Bihar Rural Livelihoods Promotion Society (BRLPS). Dr Nick Rousseau, International Liaison Manager, MECS Programme, along with Mr Vimal Kumar, MECS India Lead and Co-founder Finovista, held conversations with the CCCs focused on demand generation and technology demonstration for dissemination of clean cooking solutions in the rural parts of Bihar. CCCs have the primary responsibility of creating awareness about eCooking and generating demand for eCooking devices in the 5 blocks of the Bodh Gaya District of Bihar.
The team along with the research team of IIT Bombay and personnel from JEEViKA visited a few households in a village of Bodh Gaya to understand the usage pattern and impact of adopting eCooking practises. These interactions provided valuable insights into grassroots initiatives promoting clean cooking technologies, highlighting the significant contribution of women in driving innovation in rural communities.
