Collaborative clean cooking opportunities explored between Indian stakeholders of MECS and Loughborough University

To explore wider collaboration opportunities with Loughborough University in India on modern energy cooking, a roundtable discussion organised by Finovista was held on 3 November 2022 at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, among India stakeholders of MECS and a Loughborough University delegation led by Nick Jennings (Vice Chancellor and President). Martyn Edwards, Director of Marketing & Advancement, Bala Vaidhyanathan, Univ. Special Envoy (India), Kirti Ruikar, Univ. Special Envoy (India), Sanjana Mannadiar, Intl. Officer for South Asia and Tanika Dhiri, Graduate Management Trainee, were the other team members. Participating from India were Debajit Palit (NTPC-School of Business), Rahul Kulshreshtha, Manager, O/o Principal Scientific Advisor to Gov. of India, Girja Shankar, General Manager, Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), Reji Pillai, President, India Smart Grid Forum (ISGF) and SP Garnaik, Lead (Energy Efficiency & Clean Finance Specialist, Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI).

The Roundtable was strategically planned to bring together the key Indian stakeholders from partner agencies, academia, and the Indian government. During the discussion, stakeholders shared the highlights of their work, identified potential areas of working with MECS in India, and which initiatives can be taken forward at the university level.
