The 14th Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM-14) was held on 22nd July 2023 in Goa under India’s Presidency and the theme of the Ministerial meeting was “Accelerating India’s Net Zero Transition through Energy Efficiency, Sustainable Cooling & Mobility”. The conference addressed policy frameworks, financial mechanisms for clean energy investments, and international cooperation for scaling energy-efficient solutions. The event was organized by EESL and during the event, their new strategy, and upcoming activities, showcasing their commitment to India’s transition to net-zero emissions were also unveiled.

Another landmark outcome of the 14th Clean Energy Ministerial was a significant strategic alliance that took place between the Modern Energy Cooking Service (MECS) program and Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) on clean cooking. The event witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Loughborough University, UK, and EESL.  The primary objective of this partnership is to introduce and encourage the adoption of clean cooking technology among residential consumers. Through various capacity-building initiatives, the alliance seeks to empower solution providers and facilitate a smooth transition towards cleaner cooking practices across the country. By joining forces, MECS and EESL intend to lay a strong foundation for the promotion of sustainable cooking practices and contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment.
