The event’s main objective is to provide an opportunity for an exchange between practitioners from the industry, academia, and development institutions working in the field of decentralized energy access and local development. The Conference will cover hands-on technical, social, and environmental considerations, and business and management aspects with the aim of sharing experiences, learning from each other, and networking. Authors will share projects being designed or developed in very diverse geographic areas: Africa (54%), Asia and the Pacific (14%), Americas and Caribbean Region (11%), and other areas covering globally applicable cross-cutting actions (20%). The MECS programme, funded by UK aid (FCDO), is proud to be one of the supporting partners of the Conference.

The authors come from research institutions, from implementing agencies, financiers and companies working to implement renewable energy projects in developing countries and remote regions to ensure full and uninterrupted access to energy.
