On 17-18 December 2023, a Divisional Level Event for the Behaviour Change Campaign on eCooking Appliances under the GIZ-EnDev programme took place in Khulna. As the project reached its conclusion, it offered a unique opportunity to understand the locals’ perspective on electric cooking. The event also aimed to change people’s overall view on eCooking appliances and give an idea about the project activities.

In the workshop on 18th December, Md. Sabbir Ahmed, Senior Program Officer, Practical Action shared the objectives, outcomes, challenges, and way forward for this project. Suja Uddin and Jahangir Alam, Field Officers, Practical Action, shared the achievements and field activities of the project. Mohsin Bhuiyan, Senior Officer – MIS & Research, Practical Action, shared the findings of the survey.

“Rupantar” is a cultural organization who presented the drama “Agun” on the first day of the event which was mainly to raise awareness on adopting electric cooking equipment instead of traditional method considering health and kitchen air pollution.

Representatives from Khulna, Satkhira, Bagerhat, Local Communities, Local Government Institutions, and Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) were present. Renowned brands such as Walton, ATEC attended the meeting to share their valuable views about the project.
