Coming Soon: Invitation to Tender- Provision of Services to Support the Delivery of the Loughborough University-Led Programme, ‘Accelerating eCooking Uptake in Africa and South Asia (ACUASA).’

The Climate and Clean Air Coalition has funded Loughborough University to undertake an innovative new project entitled Accelerating eCooking Uptake in Africa and South Asia (ACUASA).

The project is led by Professor Ed Brown, Research Director of the UK Aid-funded Modern Energy Cooking Services (MECS) Programme and is being delivered in collaboration with the Loughborough MECS team and ESMAP.

ACUASA is intended to serve as a flag-ship initiative of the Global Electric Cooking Coalition launched at COP28 as a vehicle for promoting electric cooking. In essence, the goal of the project is to help integrate electric cooking components within the World Bank’s comprehensive energy sector and clean air programming via a number of inter-connected partnerships with key Bank programmes.

Over the coming days we at MECS will be releasing a series of tenders, through which we will seek to appoint suitably qualified consultants to work with us in delivering ACUASA under 4 separately-tendered lots focusing on specific project outcome areas:

These lots will be focused as follows:

  1. Specialist Carbon Finance and Co-Benefits Analytical and Programme Support
  2. Institutional eCooking Support for ASCENT in East Africa
  3. Analytical and Technical Support for eCooking Transitions within India
  4. ACUASA Programme Management, Cross-programme Analytical Support, Quality Assurance and Stakeholder Engagement
