First call for proposals: Modern Cooking Facility for Africa

Date
7th June 2022
Categories
General

The clean cooking sector faces demand- and supply-side challenges that are limiting uptake in Sub-Saharan Africa. The potential for cost savings, health and environmental benefits of clean cooking solutions are lowered down as sustainable fuels and innovative business models lack financial support.

The Modern Cooking Facility for Africa programme, financed initially by Sweden and managed by Nefco, aims to accelerate innovation in the clean cooking space by incentivising companies offering innovative cooking solutions. The programme supports access to higher tier cooking applications including electric, biogas, bioethanol and solar thermal stoves, with strong emphasis on the sales of fuels associated with higher tier clean cooking technologies.
