This 5-year (2020-2025) programme will create a long-term partnership of African and European stakeholders in the field of renewable energy by supporting collaborative research and innovation projects, as well as developing renewable energy related innovations. The aim is to reduce fragmentation of the sector by aligning existing bilateral and multilateral frameworks.
MECS is one of 16 partners supporting the LEAP-RE call for proposals. The total indicative call budget is € 11 million provided by funding organizations + 6 million € from EC contribution and covers six multi-annual roadmaps of funding. More details can be found on the LEAP-RE webpage.
