We are pleased to share the recording of the “MECS/CCA Webinar Series: Putting Users at the Heart of Clean Cooking (Episode #2), a collaborative work with our colleagues at the Clean Cooking Alliance (CCA).

This webinar took place on Tuesday 20th of May 2025, at 10:00-11:00 am UK time (BST) and was moderated by Matthew Sloan, Senior Manager, Consumer Insights and Market Strengthening from the Clean Cooking Alliance (CCA) and presented by Dr Aine Petrulaityte, Research Associate at MECS Programme.

In this session, Aine Petrulaityte shared insights into how households use electric cooking appliances in everyday lives in Ghana, Kenya, Nepal, and Uganda, with a focus on behaviours related to energy consumption.

Drawing on Kitchen Behaviour studies in 103 households, the session explored when and why electricity is used for cooking, what behaviours help save energy, and what actions lead to energy waste.
